How it works
Open the fridge and type what you see — half an onion and yesterday's chicken absolutely count.
Pick a cuisine style, a time limit and a diet option, or leave them wide open.
Get full recipes with steps. Anything small you're missing is flagged honestly before you start.
Start from one ingredient
Got a lot of one thing to use up? These pages start the generator with that ingredient already loaded and collect the best ideas for it.
Why cook from your fridge first?
Most of us shop for a recipe and then let the rest of the fridge quietly expire. FridgeChef flips that around: the ingredients you already paid for become the plan. It is cheaper, it wastes less food, and on a tired weeknight it is simply faster than deciding what to buy. Two eggs, a potato and an onion is not an empty fridge — it is a skillet dinner waiting to happen.
Questions
How does the ingredient recipe generator work?
Type the ingredients you already have — for example chicken, rice and garlic — then pick a cuisine style and a time limit if you like. FridgeChef builds recipes around your list and tells you honestly if a recipe needs one or two extra staples.
Is FridgeChef free?
Yes. You can generate recipes for free with no account and no sign-up.
I only have two or three ingredients. Is that enough?
Usually yes. Eggs, rice, potatoes, pasta and tinned tomatoes can carry a whole meal. Add whatever staples you have and the generator will work with them, flagging anything small you might be missing.
Can I ask for vegetarian or quick recipes?
Yes. Set the diet option to vegetarian and the time limit to 20 or 30 minutes and every recipe returned will respect both.
Does it help reduce food waste?
That is the point of it. Cooking from what is already in your fridge uses up ingredients before they spoil and saves a shopping trip.
